Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
What is the pelvic floor?
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles, ligaments and connective tissue that are located at the
bottom of your pelvic bones. The pelvic floor functions to provide support to your internal
organs, offer support to your low back and hips and aid in optimal sexual arousal and sensation.
What I Treat
- Urinary incontinence
- Fecal incontinence
- Prolapse
- Pre and Post Natal
- Pelvic, Hip and Low Back Pain
- Sexual Pain
What to Expect at Your Assessment
All pelvic floor assessments and treatments are completed in a private room. The assessment involves both an external exam, which focuses on your hips, pelvis and low back, and an internal component to assess the pelvic floor. The internal assessment is completed either vaginally and/or rectally and involves the therapist assessing your muscles with their finger. An exam can be completed without an internal assessment however a more accurate treatment plan will be developed with an internal assessment. The patient is always in control and your comfort is of the utmost importance!

My name is Christine and I am a registered physiotherapist in Calgary. I first became interested in physiotherapy due to the positive experiences I had while rehabbing various sporting injuries. My positive experiences, combined with my passion for helping people led me to physiotherapy. I completed my Bachelor of Health Sciences in Health Studies from Western University in London, Ontario before earning my Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta.
Over the years I have developed a special interest in pelvic floor rehabilitation and love empowering women to live a healthy and active life.
